Here We Go Again

I just wanted to let everyone know that the Grady’s are going on the road again.

Last year we went west for 5 weeks. This year we are heading south and we are blessed to be able to go 7 weeks this time!

The boys (and I’m including Larry) are all very excited. I think I’m most looking forward to eating some real southern food and drinking sweet tea until I burst!
We will be going to Virginia, North & South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee. (That’s right Delina, you’re having company!)

Last year when we went, Selah couldn’t even crawl yet. This year, she’s running all over the place! I guess I’ll be doing a lot more “hiking” this year. We went camping 2 weeks ago in the Poconos and it felt great to be in our REAL home again. Of course, we invited family along with us, so there was 4 adults and 5 kids in the RV…. But that’s what family is all about, right?

The boys both finished school yesterday. They were both awarded with a “Caring Certificate”. One child in each classroom gets a caring award for the year that says that they go above and beyond helping in their classrooms and taking care of the other kids. We are so proud of them! Josh is still quite a character! At the end of the year the kids had to write a page that says where they want to go this summer. 85% of the kids said Six Flags, 10% said the beach and the other kids wrote things like “Grandma’s” or “the Zoo”. Not Josh! He wrote that he wants to visit the theater where Lincoln got shot! Out of 20 kids in his class, he came in 2nd for reading the most books in the school year. I’m raising a genius! Ha ha!

Caleb still has his beautiful white blond hair and he lets me keep it long. It’s awesome and shaggy. Caleb is also a really bright, intelligent boy. Caleb’s strength though is his crazy sense of humor. He is also one of the toughest kids I know. The other day he was running down a rocky path, slid on his bare chest, cried for 30 seconds and then got right up. He can (on occasion) throw a perfect spiral, and has a great eye for baseball. Even at 5 we can see his talent.

Selah Isabella is ALL girl! At 16 months old, she already wants to pick out her own clothes in the morning (pink is the color of choice most days) and she is always putting on one hat after another. She loves strutting around in her hats! She is a dream baby! She rarely cries, she eats like a horse and sleeps 13 – 14 hours at night and takes a 3 hour nap! Her new passions are to run around the house screaming and laughing at the top of her lungs and dance to The Wiggles.

My house is NEVER quiet, it is RARELY clean but it is the most fun-filled, goofiest, loving house I know of. So, why not take it on the road?!

We are going to be leaving on July 15th directly after church. We’re going to bring the fifth wheel to church with us then wave goodbye!

We would really appreciate your prayers and your emails along the way. As you all know, Larry and I are NOT by ANY stretch of the imagination shy people. But, 7 weeks without seeing our friends and family gets a little sad. So, emails would be great.
