Since the last time I wrote, we have done quite a bit.
We have been in Tennessee for the past week and we love it here. We have been in Dolly Parton’s home town of Pigeon Forge, TN which is like the South’s version of Wildwood, NJ (or for my Cali friends…. It’s like the family friendly Vegas). You could spend a fortune in this town. For a 5 mile stretch up & down the road are restaurants, go-kart tracks, mini-golfs, t-shirt shops, old time photos, and arcades. Plus the shows! Magic shows, comedy shows, acrobatic shows, cowboy shows. Not to mention all of the natural beauty around here.
And, the coolest thing that I got to do here is FLY!
It was the coolest thing! I went to “Fly Away” where you get to experience sky diving. So, for 15 minutes I got see what it was like to be weightless. I was not scared at all. Of course, now I feel like I played football (maybe that was because the instructor landed on me!) but it was so great that I went the next day too! I was up about 15 feet and doing some turns. It really was one of the greatest things I’ve ever done!
Today we went on a great hike through the Smokey Mountain National Park. Joshua just about ran through the 2 miles while Caleb is patient and hikes with me. He told me that he loves being my “hiking buddy”. We hike slower then Larry & Josh because we always stop and look at everything and touch everything. Caleb told me a few times today that he just loves nature. And we heard (and saw) a rattle snake! Luckily it was at the end of our hike and it was off the trail. But, it was pretty exciting to see one. Selah even seemed to like the hike. Luckily, she’s been quite a trooper being strapped to Larry’s back in the backpack.

We all went to the Comedy Barn which was really funny and then Larry took the boys to a magic show. Josh is now going to “master” magic. He bought the magic kit that they sell at the end of every magic show and he wants to make invitations and put on his own show. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
Down the road is Gatlinburg, but we did not spend any time there. But, there was another few miles packed with shops, museums and restaurants.
We have been swimming almost every day, but it’s amazing to see how fast a thunderstorm can move in. We’ve had to jump out of the pool quite a few times!
Everyone that has written me back (hint hint) has asked if we fixed the a/c in the truck. The answer is no. Being here in the mountains, it’s not really that hot so we haven’t taken care of that yet.
From here we’re going to Chattanooga for a week or so before heading to Georgia. Two weeks down – 5 to go!
I appreciate all the prayers and the emails that we’re getting. We’ll write again soon.
